The Dodgers have lost 24-year old righty swinging 2B Ivan DeJesus for at least one month due to a torn left oblique muscle. DeJesus played in 17 games for the Dodgers last year and he was 6 for 32 (.188 avg, .423 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 0 homer and 1 RBI. He also played in 100 games in AAA-ball last year and he was 120 of 387 (.310 avg, .820 OPS) with 61 runs scored, 8 homers, 59 RBIs and 4 stolen bases. DeJesus wasn’t going to make the Dodgers’ opening day roster out of spring training, so they should be o.k. until he’s ready to return to action.

UPDATE: (4/5/2012) - The Dodgers have placed Ivan DeJesus on the 15-day disabled list.

The Los Angeles Dodgers place Rubby De La Rosa on the 60-day D.L.

The Dodgers have placed 22-year old righty starting pitcher Rubby De La Rosa on the 60-day disabled list as he continues to recover from Tommy John Surgery which he had last August. De La Rosa pitched in 13 games (10 starts) for the Dodgers last year and he was 4-5 with a 3.71 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. De La Rosa only gave up 54 hits while whiffing 60 batters in 60 2/3 innings last year, which is pretty impressive. His lone wart in his game was his control as he walked 31 batters last year. The Dodgers are going to take things slow with De La Rosa as he is likely going to miss the entire 2012 season.
