Rod Barajas has hit the ground running for the Los Angeles Dodgers

34-year old righty swinging catcher Rod Barajas has made a quick impact with his bat for the Dodgers so far. He has played in 7 games for the Dodgers since coming over from the Mets and he is 8 of 23 (.348 avg, 1.271 OPS) with 4 runs scored, 3 homers and 6 RBIs. Barajas is a hot and cold type of hitter so the Dodgers hope that his hot streak lasts at least one more month. He is going to play almost every day the rest of the year because A.J. Ellis and Brad Ausmas offer almost nothing with the bat.
