The Los Angeles Dodgers place Manny Ramirez on the D.L.
The Dodgers have placed 38-year old righty swinging LF Manny Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring. Ramirez has played in 59 games for the Dodgers this season and he is 59 of 183 (.322 avg, .937 OPS) with 31 runs scored, 8 homers and 39 RBIs. The Dodgers have recalled 25-year old lefty swinging OF Xavier Paul to replace Ramirez on the active roster. Paul played in 20 games earlier this season for the Dodgers and he was 16 of 57 (.281 avg, .731 OPS) with 9 runs scored, 6 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. Paul will likely get some P.T. in LF along with Reed Johnson and Garret Anderson. Johnson has played in 61 games this season for the Dodgers and he is 34 of 121 (.281 avg, .673 OPS) with 15 runs scored, 7 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Anderson has played in 62 games for the Dodgers this year and he is 23 of 126 (.183 avg, .484 OPS) with 6 runs scored, 2 homers and 11 RBIs. The Dodgers hope that Paul, Johnson and Anderson can do a decent job in LF while Manny Ramirez is out of action.
