The Dodgers have declined a $10 million dollar option on the 2010 season for right starting pitcher Jon Garland. Garland started 6 games for the Dodgers after coming over in a trade with the D-Backs and he was 3-2 with a 2.72 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. Garland started 33 games overall last season for the Dodgers & D-Backs and he was 11-13 with a 4.01 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. The Dodgers will be in the market for starting pitching either through the trade market or in free agency.

The Los Angeles Dodgers should place a call to the Padres

Blogged under Trade Rumors, General, Front Page, Bloglockers by chinmusic on Tuesday 3 November 2009 at 12:06 pm

The Padres are going to try to move righty starting pitcher Chris Young over the winter and he would make a nice fit in the Dodgers’ starting rotation. With that in mind the Dodgers should offer outfielders Xavier Paul, Jason Repko and a prospect to the Padres. With the Padres dearth of offense they would probably jump at this kind of deal as long as they weren’t worried about making a trade within the division.
