The Dodgers have traded 24-year old switch hitting 2B/3B Tony Abreu to the Diamondbacks as the player to be named later for Jon Garland. Abreu played in 6 games for the Dodgers this season and he was 2 for 8 (.250 avg, .705 OPS) with 1 RBI. In his career with the Dodgers, Abreu played in 65 games in which he was 47 for 174 (.270 avg, .714 OPS) with 19 runs scored, 2 homers and 18 RBIs. The Dodgers have prospects they like better than Abreu but he should get a lot of playing time in Arizona. Still the price was right for Garland who should really help the Dodgers the rest of the year.
